谢蓓 Xie Bei China, b. 1964

Biography

Xie Bei’s painting practice seeks to construct a new iconography of ruins. Within a social context marked by disoriented human desire and the blurring traces of collapse, he attempts to decode emerging correspondences and relational structures. Unmoved by prevailing trends, he consistently sustains a humanistic concern for social reality while remaining faithful to his inner experiences. His works articulate the anxieties of contemporary society as well as the artist’s persistent questioning.
