李占洋 Li Zhanyang b. 1969

Overview

Li Zhanyang, born in Changchun, Jilin Province in 1969, graduated from the Sculpture Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang from 1989 to 1994 with a bachelor's degree. From 1997 to 1999 he studied in the same education with master degree class in Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2004, he taught in École nationale supérieure dart de Nice Villa Arson, France for half a year. From 2012 to 2014, he studied as a graduate student in the Master of Cultural Heritage and Museology Education Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing and obtained a master's degree in Gugongnology (study of the Imperial Palace). He was a visiting scholar at the University of Pittsburgh from 2017 to 2018. Now he is professor and master supervisor of Sculpture Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. In 2018, he joined the Chinese Artists Association and devoted himself to the research on contemporary sculpture creation art and sculpture art teaching.

His work "The Gaze of A Great Man" won the academic award of the third Nanjing International Art Festival; "Subway Station" was nominated as Works to Beijing" in The 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts; "Labor" was selected in "Report To The People - Chongqing Art Works Spring Festival Exhibition"; "Subway Station" was selected in "Tribute To The Motherland - Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the 7th Chongqing Art Exhibition and the 13th National Art Exhibition, Chongqing Selected Works Exhibition"; "Subway station", Nomination Award for the 11th National Art Exhibition - Railway Station.
