The year 2024 is about to end in the cold air after the winter solstice, as did every past year. Nevertheless, however time fleets and seasons alternate, every day in life holds unique, irreplaceable meaning. A Thousand Plateau Art Place presents a special exhibition, wishing to bid farewell to the year 2024 through which we all lived together, but also to instill hope into the coming spring. Hence, we sincerely invite our guests to attend the opening of “I-Define III: 10 Stories” on December 28, 2024.

The passion for storytelling could be traced back to the primeval origin of humanity, and the sharing of stories never ceased. It added flavors to life by the bonfires; so did it breed our cosmic myths. The new exhibition invited ten emerging artists, including Jiang Xiaoyu, Li Xiaogang, Shao Fengtian, Su Yuming, Wang Heng, Wu Yifan, Xing Wanli, Xiong Haoqi, Ye Wuji, and Yu Xiangyue. Every artist constitutes an independent story unit with their works and writing, telling peculiar chapters from their creative journeys. These chapters are as individualized as they epitomize the collective story of this era; they are like gusts of wind and shivers of grasses that spread the message of Nature.

Among the featured artists, some represent personal experiences while others reflect on social realities; some excavate the roots of signs, while others give meaning to metaphors... Their greatest commonality lies in not seeking anything in common but recognizing their subjecthood. This is significant because artists shall not append themselves to any group, but realize their individuality.
