A Thousand Plateaus Gallery is thrilled to participate in Art Basel Hong Kong 2024 from March 26th to 30th in the Galleries and Kabinett at booth 3C12, as well as the Film sectors.
In the Gallery sector we will present a curatorial project “Polyphonic Writing II” focusing on a historical thread of the thirty-year evolution of the traditional calligraphic language in paintings and featuring four artists spanning three generations: Wang Chuan(1953), Zhou Chunya (1955), Yang Shu(1965) and Qi Lan (1973). This year’s presentation is a continuation and expansion of ”Polyphony Writing“ exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong 2023, with a stronger emphasis on the contemporary interpretation of the traditional calligraphic language in paintings.
In Kabinett we present the new installation work “A Quatrefoil Patterned Door · Reflection (2024)”by Bi Rongrong - her most recent exploration on the commonality of patterns and their subsequent transmission, development, and changes in different nations and boundaries.
In the Film sector, Chen Qiulin’s Garden (2007) will be showing at Lecture Hall N101B, 1 / F on Thursday, 28 March 5:50pm - 6:50pm. Through the film, Qiulin explores the dialectal potentials in the post-demolition setting of Wanxian City.
