On the ASIA NOW 2017, A Thousand Plateaus Art Space is going to present art works by Chen Qiulin, Feng Bingyi, Wang Chuan, Wang Jun and Yang Shu. The media of these selected works includes painting, photography, video, installation and so on. These works are finished by important artists whose ages range from 1950s to 1990s, which will act as a glimpse into Chinese Contemporary Art. Chen Qiulin’s works often combine social problems and her personal experience in the process of rapid development in China, guiding the audience to think of changes in social environment and living space.Her works not only show her consistent care about society and the deepening exploration of contemporary video language, but also are exhibited and collected by many domestic and international museums and art institutions. Photography by Feng Bingyi is with obvious personal experience narrative, artistic and visual image and philosophy, which has received widespread attention. Wang chuan and Yang shuo are two important artists in the field of non-representational painting in China. Wang chuan is known for his lasting and deep abstract paintings. Since he abandoned the realistic painting in 1985 and began to explore the new artistic language, he has made great achievements in the development of abstract painting, The "no. 2" which will exhibite in this art fair is one of the representative works of his recent works with evident self-healing characteristics.The work was exhibited in the exhibition of "multiverse" and "abstract China 2016" at the 21st century minsheng art museum in Shanghai. and made its appearance in other important exhibitions.In Yang's works, there is not only a strong explosive force and occasional spontaneity, but also a more sensual and worldly side, which can be seen as the pure meaning of the painting.
