The exhibition The Wanderer unfolds through paintings, lithographs, installations, and sculptures, constructing an inner world that balances playfulness with a subtle sense of unease. For artist Chen Wei Ting, “wandering” is not a form of travel, but an unnamed state of being—one that exists perpetually on the edge of observation. Waiting, drifting, and hesitation form the emotional rhythm of his recent works. Lithography has become a significant medium in Chen’s recent practice, with repeated experiments and failures marking a slow process of waiting and reflection. In his installations and sculptures, recurring forms and symbols emerge through shifting materials, where the tension between softness and hardness conceals a gentle disquiet.
