Basel Social Club 2025

A Thousand Plateaus Art Space is thrilled to participate in the fourth edition of Basel Social Club, taking place from June 15 to 21, 2025, in a historic former private bank building in the old town of Grossbasel, Switzerland. This year’s theme, systems of value exchange, continues its commitment to site-specific curatorial practice, responding to the architectural and symbolic legacy of the bank. Over a hundred rooms will be transformed into immersive environments, where contemporary art meets the layered narratives of the site. As part of the main exhibition, A Thousand Plateaus Art Space will present new works by emerging Chinese artist Rao Weiyi (b.1993), and the artist Chen Qiulin’s video work The Garden (2007) will also be screened in the FILM section curated by Martha Kirszenbaum.
